Omid Bagheri was born in Iran, in 1990. He received the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in electronics engineering in 2012 and the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in telecommunications engineering in 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he cooperated with some high-tech companies in Iran to produce a wide variety of antenna and microwave elements for radar applications. In 2019, he was selected as a research award recipient to work as a researcher in the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Concordia, Montreal, Canada. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, University of Waterloo, ON, Canada, and working as a member of the Wireless Sensors and Devices Lab under the supervision of Professor Omar M. Ramahi and Professor George Shaker. The area of his research interests includes the design of microstrip array antennas, metamaterial superstrates, 3D printing and dielectric Rod lenses for radar applications in wearable sensors and automotive vehicles. Together with recent advances in the use of the antenna for biomedical applications, he is also interested in new topics related to bio-electromagnetics, machine learning, and image processing.
